Rachel Times Two!!!

Not all is gloomy in the retail world. In fact some designers seem to be flourishing. Take Manhattan based designer Rachel Roy who has plans to launch a diffusion line of contemporary women’s wear dubbed intimately Rachel Rachel Roy.

If you measure her success by the attendees to her launch party on the 29th, which included the likes of Alexandra Richards, who guest DJ’ed, model Veronica Webb, and a slue of fashion's most influential players; ELLE magazine’s Joe Zee, Teen Vogue’s Amy Astely and Glamour’s Cindi Leive, then she would seem to be thriving in a sector where most are barely surviving.

Hosted at the RRR showroom she presented guest with a range of youthfully chic pieces such as paper bag skirts, casual quarter sleeve trenches, printed jackets, acid wash minis, and studded tees.

In conjunction with Jones Apparel Group Inc. Roy is set to launch the brand exclusively in 85 Macy stores throughout the country this August. The collection will be a full lifestyle brand, and as such will include footwear, apparel, and accessories.

“There is a great deal of opportunity for this affordable, young, but still with designer details kind of line,” said Terry Lundgren, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Macy’s Inc., to WWD.

The collection is set to retail from $59 to $299; cheap, very cheap, when considering the bigger picture of things. Girls can expect a full assortment of stylish items, from everyday pieces like knit cardigans and jersey dresses to on point trends like jumpsuits and embellished tee’s. So who said fashion is dying, as this points out it is and will continue to flourish with talent!! It all depends on where you look, and you'll definitely want to keep a look out for this haute hip line come fall.

An amazing outfit for the office, or anywhere. I love the retro colors and print.
